For ‘No place like home’ I have been commissioned to re-imagine a piece work by Conrad Atkinson from 1995 entitled ‘The Wicked Proposition of the West (Proposition 187)’, which was based on the original story of The Wizard of Oz, with commentary on the political and economic context of the US depression in the early 1900s.
The 2020 version will use contemporary stories from people who have journeyed to Cumbria and call it ome, presented as a spiral of shoes similar to the original artwork.
