‘Crowd’ was the culmination of 3 years studying at Camberwell College of Art & Design, and was the main feature in the degree show.
Lines taken from quick sketches are drawn in aluminium flat bar, and sunken into subbuteo like cast concrete bases. The lines provide a hint of individual personalities but a visual confusion as the characters blur together to form the crowd.
A new set of figures were commissioned in the same summer for Nigel Hall in Covent Garden, and some of the original figures reside at a private collection in Oxford.
