Art Moves was a collaborative experimental performance with Jilly Jarman funded by ACE, whereby we curated a series of live art performance experiments, drawing sessions and sound art, all brought together with a joint empathy and dedication to concentrated improvisation.
I taught a series of fast paced ‘movement’ drawing workshops at Cumbria Institute of the Arts, taking students out of their comfort zones and into the theatre rehearsals, to quickly draw the movement of the actors and dancers. Another session saw the dancers and artists swap their trades to open up and experiment in a challenging but safe environment.
Performances held at Bluebell Bookshop invited the audience to join in with the drawing part of a live improvised session, with musicians, choreographers, dancers and visual artists.
