Ten gateways located on Lake District hillsides are meticulously vandalised in gold leaf, transformed into portals to a world more utopian.
Framed with embellished gold, the Golden Gateways print series examines our relationship with the natural world and the ideals we impose upon it, referencing the Romantic poets and contemporary modes of escapism.
The series was first exhibited at Tullie House for Sedition: An Uprising of Cumbrian Contemporary Artists in 2010, before travelling to London for Parallax, Thorny How in Grasmere and the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal in summer 2018.
This series is available for exhibition and sale. Please get in touch for more info.
