September already!

And such a busy time. Recently I’ve been working with some smashing partners in a full range of roles. I worked with Lakes Alive to curate a sufferage show –This Hand: Processions Northern Exhibition – which featured banners taken to the Edinburgh processions this year (part of Artichoke’s national project celebrating 100 years of sufferage) and a series of new works in the form of embellished gloves, created by Cumbrian women.

To coincide with the Golden Gates exhibition finishing at the Warehouse Cafe, I partnered up with Jamie Barnes to run an artists professional development session as part of The Brewery’s adult learning programme – talking about Artists Statements. If you were at the talk the follow up material will be on here shortly.

I’ve also been leading some consultancy and business development for Greendoor Studios – a super network of visual artists celebrating nearly 25 years.

A midwifery campaign is the focus of design work at the moment, producing concepts and illustrations for 4 post cards for the Association of Radical Midwives for better regulation in midwifery. It’s a subject close to heart. Drawings to follow.

And I’m also working on some location maps and illustrations for holiday accommodation for a private estate office… more to come on that one too.

In the background The Studio Morland continues to host it’s Arts&Wellness programme and is beginning to invite interest for corporate hire and retreats – check the website for more information there and get in touch to get involved in this fabulous studio provision.
